The Webflow Editor lets you safely update your site’s content without touching code. It’s simple once you know what you’re looking at - this is a quick walkthrough of the key areas.
What you’ll see when you log in
After clicking your /?edit link and logging in, your site will load as normal — but now with:
- An Editor Toolbar at the top
- Blue highlights around any editable text or images
- A CMS panel on the left for managing blog posts, projects, or anything that changes often
Editor Toolbar (Top)
This black bar runs along the top of the page. From here, you can:
- Toggle between desktop, tablet, and mobile views
- Publish changes
- Access help if needed
Inline Editing (On the Page)
Blue boxes will appear as you hover over editable elements like:
- Text
- Images
- Links
- Buttons
Click any blue-highlighted area to open a text field or image picker.
No need to save — Webflow does that for you.
CMS Collections (Left Panel)
Click the CMS icon on the left to open your Collections. These are reusable content types like:
- Blog Posts
- Team Members
- Projects
- FAQs
From here, you can add new content, edit existing entries, or publish updates.
What you can’t do in the Editor
You can’t:
- Change the site’s layout
- Adjust mobile styles
- Edit navigation menus (usually)
- Break the site (seriously — it’s safe)
The Editor is built for content. If you need layout or design changes, we can help — just reach out.
