Your blog (or news section, journal, etc.) is powered by something called a Collection — it’s like a content template. Each blog post uses the same structure, which makes adding new ones simple.
Here’s how to do it.
Step 1: Open the CMS
Once you’re in the Webflow Editor, click the CMS icon in the left-hand panel. You’ll see a list of Collections — things like Blog Posts, Projects, or Team Members.
Click Blog Posts.
Step 2: Click “New Blog Post”
You’ll see a list of existing posts. Hit the “New” button to start fresh.
You’ll be taken to a form with fields like:
- Title
- Summary / Excerpt
- Main Content
- Featured Image
- Author
- Publish Date
Step 3: Fill in the Fields
Each field is labelled clearly. Keep it simple:
- Use a short, clear title
- The summary is what shows on your blog listing page
- Add your content (you can paste it in from Word or Google Docs)
- Upload a featured image — ideally under 500KB
- Choose or add an author if needed
You can save your work as a draft at any point.
Step 4: Publish
Once you’re happy, hit Publish (or Save as Draft if you want to come back later).
The new post will appear automatically on your blog page, styled to match the rest of your site.
That’s it.
New post written, published, and ready to go.
