What Not To Touch

A few things best left alone.

Webflow’s Editor is safe. You can update content without worrying about breaking the layout. But if you’ve been given access to the full Webflow Designer, it comes with more power — and more ways to accidentally ruin your homepage.

Here’s a short list of things we recommend not touching unless you know exactly what you’re doing (or we’re on a call with you).

Layout and Structure

Avoid editing things like:

  • Page sections (hero banners, grids, footers)
  • Container widths or padding
  • Anything labelled as a “Component” — these update everywhere

It’s easy to throw off the layout or create inconsistencies across your site.

CMS Settings

Changing field names, collection structure, or slugs can break connected pages. Even something simple like renaming a blog field can cause display issues.

If you need a structural change - just ask. We’ll either walk you through it or do it for you.

Custom Code

Some projects include embeds or integrations - like booking systems, social feeds, or tracking snippets. Please don’t edit these directly. A missing bracket can break the whole page.

SEO Settings

We’ve already added meta titles, descriptions, and open graph content. You can update them later - but let us know if you want help doing it properly.

Not sure? Ask.

If you’re ever unsure, send us a message first. We’d much rather help before a change than fix something after it’s gone weird.
