How Retainers and Subscriptions Work

Understanding ongoing billing for monthly work or support.

If you’ve signed up for a Linford retainer or ongoing service, your billing will follow a recurring schedule. This helps keep projects moving without the need to approve every small task or request.

Here’s how it works and what to expect.

What a retainer covers

Retainers are billed monthly and typically include a mix of services such as:

  • Website updates
  • Content creation
  • Ad management
  • Strategy or consulting
  • Design or development hours

Each retainer is customised based on your needs and agreed in writing before billing begins.

When you’re billed

You’ll receive an invoice each month on the same day. The first invoice is issued once the agreement is in place, and payment can be made manually or through auto-pay.

If you’ve set up auto-pay through pay.linford.io, the charge will be made automatically using your saved payment method.

What’s included in each invoice

Each invoice lists the month covered and the type of work included. If the retainer includes time tracking or specific deliverables, we’ll add a short note for reference.

You’ll always know what you’re paying for before it’s billed.

How to cancel or pause

Retainers can usually be cancelled or paused with at least 30 days’ notice, unless otherwise stated in your agreement. Just let us know and we’ll confirm the final billing date and wrap-up steps.

Reviewing or adjusting your plan

If your needs change, we can adjust your retainer to fit. Whether you need more hours, less support, or want to shift focus, just send us a message and we’ll work out a new plan.
